Networks Competence Group
The Networks Competence Group held a mix of virtual and face-to-face meetings in 2023.
On 3 March 2023, the Networks Competence Group (CG) presented the results (in German) of its IPv6 survey as part of a virtual meeting. The 27 participants discussed the challenges of migrating from IPv4 to IPv6 addresses and developed proposed solutions for a faster switch to the newer protocol version in the future.
On 5 May, the topic of laser safety was on the agenda for eleven CG participants. Moderated by Dr. Falk von Bornstaedt, Head of the Networks Competence Group, the experts discussed the current legislation on laser safety, sensible measures for risk assessment and the requirements for the respective laser safety classes.
On 12 September, host Huawei Germany welcomed the participants of the IoT and Internet Competence Groups to the Huawei Innovation Lab in Ismaning. One of the topics on the experts’ agenda was “Smart home from a carrier perspective”.
On 24 October, CG Head Dr. Falk von Bornstaedt and Ulrich Plate, Head of the KRITIS Competence Group, welcomed 43 experts to discuss “Redundancy of network infrastructures for enterprise resilience”.
In addition to the CG meetings, members of the CG discussed connectivity strategies for SMEs on 27 April and business continuity strategies on 22 June as part of a joint (German-language) webinar series organised by ITENOS GmbH and the eco Association.
